Acne Scar Treatment

Soften the look of acne scars, uneven texture and enlarged-looking pores with a treatment plan designed around your skin and the scars you actually have.

How this treatment can help

Smoother, more even-looking skin starts with the right scar plan

Acne-scar treatment can soften sharp edges, reduce visible depth and help the skin look smoother and more even in changing light. The most useful improvement comes from matching the treatment to each scar rather than applying one procedure across every mark.

Rolling, boxcar and ice-pick scars sit differently within the skin. Our experienced team examines their shape, depth and distribution, checks whether acne is still active, and considers your skin tone, healing history and available recovery time.

Your plan may use fractional CO₂ laser resurfacing, Pico Genesis FX, professional skin needling or a carefully staged combination. We explain what each option can realistically improve and how the skin is expected to look and feel as it heals.

Your treatment experience

What the treatment process looks like

01

Control active acne

Ongoing inflammatory acne can create new scars. We first decide whether breakout control, medical referral or AviClear should take priority.

02

Classify the scars

Lighting, touch and standardised photographs help identify scar types, tethering, depth, pigment risk and previous treatment response.

03

Stage the plan

One technology rarely solves every scar pattern. Your plan may sequence resurfacing, Pico FX, needling or other referral-based options with realistic review points.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered clearly

These answers explain the general experience. Your consultation is where we confirm what is appropriate for your skin, health and goals.

Can acne scars be completely removed?

Complete removal is not a realistic promise. Treatment aims to soften depth, edges, contrast and overall texture. Deeper scars often improve rather than disappear.

Which treatment is best for acne scars?

There is no single best treatment. Rolling, boxcar and ice-pick scars respond differently, and pigment risk, active acne, skin type, downtime and budget all influence the plan.

Why treat active acne first?

New inflammation can create new scars and make wound-based procedures less predictable. Controlling breakouts protects the investment in scar treatment and can reduce infection or flare risk.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on scar pattern, treatment intensity and biological response. Some clients choose one stronger CO₂ session; others need several fractional, Pico FX or needling visits.

What is the downtime?

Needling or non-ablative Pico treatment usually has less recovery than ablative CO₂. Deeper CO₂ can involve a week or more of visible healing plus longer-lasting redness.

Will acne-scar treatment cause pigmentation?

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a recognised risk, especially in pigment-prone skin or after sun exposure. Treatment choice, preparation and strict sun protection are important.
