Redness and vessels
Vascular Laser Treatments
Reduce selected facial redness, broken capillaries, visible vessels, rosacea-related redness and suitable leg veins with precise laser treatment.
How this treatment can help
Clearer, calmer-looking skin starts with identifying the vessel
Vascular laser treatment can reduce the visibility of suitable facial capillaries, diffuse redness, cherry angiomas and selected leg veins, helping the skin look clearer and more even. Rosacea-related redness can be managed, although the underlying condition and future triggers remain.
The Cutera Excel V+ sends a precise wavelength into the selected vessel. Blood absorbs the laser energy and converts it to heat, causing the vessel to close so the body can gradually clear it or make it less visible while cooling helps protect the skin.
Redness has many patterns, so experience is essential. Our qualified laser team examines the vessel colour, size, depth and location, then selects the wavelength and settings for that target. We explain whether you can expect temporary redness, swelling, darkening or bruising before the area clears.

Your treatment experience
What the treatment process looks like
Before
We assess the colour, size and depth of vessels, triggers, skin tone, medicines, medical history and recent sun exposure. Some leg-vein patterns may need medical investigation first.
During
Protective eyewear is worn. We select the wavelength, spot size and pulse settings; sapphire contact cooling helps protect and cool the skin.
After
Redness, swelling, darkening or a bruised appearance may occur depending on the vessel. Avoid heat, vigorous exercise and sun as advised, and follow the individual aftercare plan.

Frequently asked questions
Your questions, answered clearly
These answers explain the general experience. Your consultation is where we confirm what is appropriate for your skin, health and goals.
Can vascular laser treat rosacea?
Laser can reduce selected visible vessels and diffuse redness associated with rosacea, but it does not cure the underlying chronic condition. Triggers and future flare-ups can create new redness.
How many treatments are needed?
Small discrete vessels may respond quickly, while diffuse redness, resistant facial vessels or leg veins can require a course. Vessel depth, size, flow and individual response affect the plan.
What happens to the vessel?
Laser energy is absorbed by blood in the target vessel and converted to heat. The treated vessel coagulates and is gradually cleared or becomes less visible, while settings aim to protect surrounding tissue.
Is there downtime?
Downtime varies. Temporary redness and swelling are common; some vessels darken or look bruised before clearing. We will explain the likely response for the exact area and settings.
Can every leg vein be treated with laser?
No. Larger, symptomatic or medically concerning veins may need ultrasound assessment or treatment by a vascular doctor. Cosmetic laser is selected only for suitable superficial patterns.
Why must I avoid tanning?
Extra melanin from sun or fake tan increases competing pigment at the skin surface and can raise burn or pigment-change risk. Treatment may be postponed when the area is tanned.
Personalised professional care
Experience matters when treatment is personal
Our qualified and experienced team starts with what concerns you, then selects the treatment, technique and settings around your skin or body—not a one-size-fits-all menu.
Not all redness, veins or vascular conditions are suitable for cosmetic laser treatment. A consultation is required, and medical referral may be recommended where appropriate. Individual results vary.
