Controlled surface exfoliation
Microdermabrasion
Refresh dull, rough or congested skin with professional exfoliation that can leave the surface feeling immediately softer, smoother and cleaner.
How this treatment can help
Reveal a cleaner, smoother-feeling skin surface
Microdermabrasion is a satisfying maintenance treatment when surface build-up leaves your skin looking dull or feeling rough. It can polish away dead cells, support the clearing of suitable superficial congestion and help skincare sit more smoothly on the skin.
A professional handpiece combines controlled exfoliation with gentle suction to lift surface cells and debris. The number of passes and suction level are adjusted across the face, neck or chest so delicate areas are not treated like thicker skin.
Your therapist examines sensitivity, acne, rosacea, eczema, current products and recent procedures before starting. If you need deeper scar, pigment or collagen treatment—or your barrier needs calming—we will guide you to the option that better matches your concern.

Your treatment experience
What the treatment process looks like
Before
Tell us about sensitivity, medicines, active products, recent waxing, peels, laser, injectables or sun exposure. The skin is cleansed and assessed.
During
The handpiece passes over the skin in a controlled pattern to lift surface cells and debris. Suction and passes are adjusted to the area and response.
After
The skin may be pink, tight or sensitive. Avoid harsh actives and excess heat for the advised period, moisturise and use daily sun protection.
Frequently asked questions
Your questions, answered clearly
These answers explain the general experience. Your consultation is where we confirm what is appropriate for your skin, health and goals.
What does microdermabrasion feel like?
It usually feels like light scratching with suction. It should not feel sharply painful; tell the therapist if any area is uncomfortable.
Is there downtime?
Most clients return to usual activity, but temporary redness, dryness, sensitivity or small breakouts can occur. Stronger passes and sensitive skin increase visible recovery.
Can microdermabrasion remove acne scars?
It may smooth very superficial roughness but does not remodel deep rolling, boxcar or ice-pick scars. Needling, Pico FX or CO2 may be assessed for established scarring.
Can I have it with active acne or rosacea?
Not every acne or rosacea presentation is suitable. Inflamed pustules, broken skin or an active flare may be irritated by mechanical exfoliation.
How often can it be done?
Frequency depends on barrier recovery, other procedures and the goal. More frequent exfoliation is not automatically better and can impair the skin barrier.
How is it different from HydraFacial?
Microdermabrasion focuses on mechanical exfoliation with suction. HydraFacial combines cleansing, exfoliation, automated extraction and serum delivery through a fluid-based handpiece.
