Cutera Enlighten III
Pico Genesis & Pico Genesis FX
Brighten selected unwanted pigmentation and revitalise uneven-looking skin, with a fractional option for texture, pores and suitable acne scars.
How this treatment can help
Brighter tone or smoother texture—selected for the result you want
Pico Genesis may help reduce the contrast of selected freckles, sun spots and uneven pigmentation while supporting a brighter, more even-looking complexion. Pico Genesis FX is a different fractional approach used when the priority is improving selected acne scars, pores, fine lines and texture.
The Cutera Enlighten III delivers ultra-short laser pulses that create a pressure-wave effect in suitable pigment, breaking it into smaller particles for the body to clear. With the Micro Lens Array, the energy is divided into focused micro-zones that stimulate a controlled renewal response below the surface.
Our experienced team identifies whether your main target is pigment, texture or both, then selects full-beam or fractional delivery and a conservative treatment level for your skin. Melasma is managed especially carefully because heat and inflammation can trigger recurrence.

Your treatment experience
What the treatment process looks like
Before
Pigment is classified and suspicious lesions are excluded. Avoid tan and fake tan, disclose medication and skin products, and complete pigment preparation when prescribed.
During
Protective eyewear is worn. We select wavelength, pulse duration, fluence and either full-beam or MLA delivery according to the target.
After
Redness, swelling, pinpoint darkening or a patterned response can occur. Avoid picking, use the advised products and maintain strict daily sun protection.

Treatment goal
Reduce unwanted contrast without over-treating the skin
Pigment improvement is assessed with consistent photography. Results and recurrence vary with diagnosis, sun, hormones, inflammation and maintenance.
Frequently asked questions
Your questions, answered clearly
These answers explain the general experience. Your consultation is where we confirm what is appropriate for your skin, health and goals.
What is the difference between Pico Genesis and Pico FX?
Pico Genesis generally uses full-beam picosecond delivery for selected pigment and skin quality. Pico Genesis FX adds a Micro Lens Array that creates focused fractional zones for texture and acne-scar remodelling.
Is pico laser suitable for melasma?
It may be included in a conservative plan for selected clients, but it does not cure melasma and can worsen pigment if treatment is too aggressive or triggers are poorly controlled.
How many treatments will I need?
Manufacturer case examples often show a series, but the real number depends on the diagnosis, pigment depth, chosen delivery and response. We review rather than automatically repeating treatment.
Does Pico FX have downtime?
It can cause redness, swelling and a patterned pinpoint response. Recovery is generally lighter than ablative CO2, but intensity and skin response vary.
Can Pico Genesis remove every brown spot?
No. Some marks are unsuitable, too deep, recurrent or not benign cosmetic pigment. Changing or uncertain lesions require medical diagnosis before any cosmetic treatment.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes, in a staged plan. Timing with peels, needling, vascular laser, CO2 and active skincare is important to avoid excessive inflammation.
Personalised professional care
Experience matters when treatment is personal
Our qualified and experienced team starts with what concerns you, then selects the treatment, technique and settings around your skin or body—not a one-size-fits-all menu.
Pico treatment is not suitable for every pigment or scar. Temporary redness, swelling, crusting, pigment change and scarring are possible.
